Bleating Heart Night: Rocky Mountain Field Institute (RMFI)

  • Goat Patch Brewing Company 2727 North Cascade Avenue #123 Colorado Springs, CO, 80907 (map)

At GPB, we love pairing good beer with a good cause. That's why we are thrilled to host "Bleating Heart Nights" here in the Taproom on Tuesday evenings.

Where did we come up with the name Bleating Heart? Well, the sound a goat makes is called a "bleat" and a philanthropic goat is clearly called a "bleating heart".

By joining us on a Bleating Heart Night, every pint you purchase between 5 - 9 will result in a $1 donation to the featured non-profit.

On Tuesday, October 31st, we will be hosting Rocky Mountain Field Institute (RMFI)

Find out more about the amazing work they do here: www.rmfi.org

🎃 For this Halloween Bleating Heart Night, join us for a pint and Costume Contest! Come dressed in a costume inspired by the 7 Principles of Leave No Trace! These 7 Principles were founded to help us all leave as little impact as possible on the natural places we all love! The top 3 costumes will receive an award! 🎃

New to Leave No Trace? No worries, learn more here: https://lnt.org/why/7-principles/

The Seven Principles of Leave No Trace:

Plan Ahead and Prepare
-Planning ahead BEFORE you go for weather, regulations, routes, and the needs of your adventure

Travel & Camp on Durable Surfaces
-When finding a campsite, using an established campsite 200+ feet away from a water source creates less impact. Traveling on established trails and other durable surfaces around campsites and picnic areas like rocks, gravel, and snow creates less impact!

Dispose of Waste Properly
-Pack it In, Pack it Out! Always take all trash and food waste with you from your campsite or travels. This also covers how to dispose of human waste in the backcountry properly.

Leave What You Find
-Leave rocks, plants, natural objects, and historic/cultural structures and artifacts where they are, take only photos!

Minimize Campfire Impacts
-Campfires create lasting impacts to the environment, use established fire rings/pits where and when fires are permitted. Never leave a campfire unattended, your fire is only fully OUT when it is cold to the touch. Camp stoves are a great lightweight, less impactful way to cook your food on a camping or backcountry trip.

Respect Wildlife
-Observe wildlife from a distance, never approach or feed wildlife. Ensuring trash is secured properly and pets are within your control keeps wildlife, you, and your pets safe.

Be Considerate of Other Visitors
-Respect others and the quality of their experience!
